Duotts C29, F26 and variants: reviews and promo code
Published on: 22-08-2024 / Modified: 22-08-2024
Duotts is a rising Chinese electric bike brand. It has not yet reached the notoriety of a brand like Lankeleisi but the success of the Duotts C29 and Duotts F26 are increasing the brand's success. Their approach is quite similar to other Chinese brands by playing on the price and they are doing quite well because their prices are often lower than the competition (for an equivalent model).
Chinese manufacturers generally all have the same weakness in terms of customer service (like most Chinese sales sites) but Duotts manages to stand out here by obtaining a score of 4.1/5 on Trustpilot. Buybestgear does not do better with its 3.9/5.

Duotts C29
The strength of this bike is its price because below 800€ you don't find many electric bikes of this type, this makes the electric fat bike more accessible to a wider audience.
The Duotts C29 is an electric fat bike with a 750 watt motor and a torque of 65 nm. It is equipped with 29-inch diameter and 2-inch thick wheels, so it is not a bike for off-roading in bad conditions. It will be able to tackle trails or gravel paths but steep muddy paths will pose some problems.
The handlebars are richly equipped with a screen placed on the left, a USB charging port on the right for your phone and a very efficient Shimano gear change. I had the opportunity to test it on several bikes and it is the most efficient that I have tested so far.
The Duotts C29 is equipped with a suspension on the front fork with a large travel which will ensure you good road comfort, there is however no suspension or shock absorber at the rear. The saddle is not equipped with a spring either. The brakes are not hydraulic brakes but the braking is still quite effective.
The battery is easily accessible from the frame of the bike, it has a capacity of 15 Ah in 48v. By riding only with electric assistance and riding in good conditions, you should reach 45 km of autonomy. By pedaling and without forcing on the assistance, the autonomy will go beyond 80 km. The charging time will be quite long as for all bikes of this type.
This bike is affordable by its price but also for its versatile format. It is not a competition bike for off-roading in bad conditions but it will suit a very wide audience for use on road or trail without getting too tired.
Strengths:
Price/performance ratio
Front suspension
Autonomy
Easy assembly
Possibility of unbridling
Complete equipment
Crankset/cassette configuration
Weaknesses:
Readability of the screen in full sunlight
Tires not suitable for difficult tracks
Very basic mudguards
No suspension at the rear
Duotts F26
The Duotts F26 is the second most popular bike from Duotts and it is probably also the most aesthetic because the battery is integrated into the frame of the bike. Under its slightly more civilized appearance hides a configuration with a dual 750 watt motor for a total power of 1500 watts. You can of course choose to ride with only one motor rather than 2, with 750 watts you already have enough power for most situations. The 1500 watts can even be exceeded occasionally to reach 2000 watts in total.
The number of watts is accompanied by a torque of more than 100 nm (which is enormous) but it is especially its top speed that stands out from the others with more than 55 km / h.
The Duotts F26 is equipped with 26-inch diameter and 4-inch thick tires which makes it more suitable for off-piste riding than the C29. It is equipped with front suspension only but the suspension is installed in such a way that it does not hit the frame when you want to turn very hard.
The bike is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes for maximum braking efficiency, these are the same brakes that I tested on the Lankeleisi X3000 Max, the braking is ultra-efficient when you use both brakes.
The battery has been sized for a dual motor bike with a range of 20 Ah. The battery is housed in the frame and can be easily removed with a locking system. Using only the assistance and on a single motor you could reach 40 to 50 km of autonomy provided that you do not constantly vary the engine speed because in this case the autonomy will be significantly lower. By alternating pedaling and assistance, you should be able to reach 80 km without problems.
The handlebars are particularly ergonomic, the use of one or two motors is done on a button separate from that of the assistance level. It is also equipped with a USB port to charge your phone and a Shimano gear change.
This bike is comparable to the Lankeleisi X2000 Max that I tested, the Duotts has 500 watts less and accelerates less strongly but it has a more versatile format and above all costs less.
Strengths:
Price/power ratio
Top speed (over 50)
Suitable for big climbs
Braking power
USB socket
Autonomy
Full equipment
Well-attached mudguards
Crankset/cassette configuration
Weaknesses:
Readability on the screen in direct sunlight
Weight
Acceleration latency
Duotts S26
This bike takes the basics of the F26 but with some differences in the frame (e.g. non-integrated battery) and the presence of a shock absorber at the rear.
Duotts N26
The Duotts N26 takes the engine configuration of the F26 and S26 but with a totally different frame, we find ourselves here with a bike that is closer to a motorcycle format. It is equipped with a front suspension and a rear shock absorber and is designed to mainly do off-road riding. This format obviously does not allow for adjustment of the saddle height.
